  • The objective of this study was to obtain the information about seed coat structure and its related factors in soybean. Although this study was limited to observe seed coat structure, micropyle and hilum status, the selected materials were shown the significant difference among the varieties. Materials were selected on the basis of seed coat color and seed size. The seeds used in the study were 2 black seed varieties and 3 yellow seed varieties. The structure of seed coat was examined by the scanning electron microscope (SEM), and samples were acquired by slicing around raphe of seed coat. The percent closed micropyle observed by microscope (X100) was 100% in Jangyeob-kong, and those of the others were ranged 24 to 58%. The result of SEM showed that generally a lot of pores on the seed coat surface were observed around the hilum and the surface of black seed coat may be completely covered with a deposit with wax materials. SEM also revealed that black seed coat had very few small pores, while yellow seed coat had many large pores. The yellow seed coat surface of Hwangkeum-kong and Jangyeob-kong was covered with round and elongated pores, which were abundant on whole surface of the seed coat, and the quantity, size, and shape of pores varied according to position on the seed coat surface. In microphotographs for cross section of seed coat, palisade cell layers showed a tendency to be thicker in the black seed varieties than yellow seed varieties. (rdf:langString) (en)
  • 콩 種子의 크기와 種皮色이 다른 品種들 間 種皮의 組織學的인 特性을 顯微鏡上에서 比較 檢討한 바, 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 황색 種皮 품종에서는 硬實 種子率이 0%인 반면, 흑색 種皮를 갖는 검정콩1호와 경동3호의 硬實 種子率은 각각 1.7%, 7.3%이었으며, 珠孔의 閉鎖率(percent closed micropyle)은 장엽콩이 100%, 그외 품종들은 24∼58% 범위의 珠孔 閉鎖率을 보였다. 2. 전자 현미경 150 倍率상에서 種皮 표면을 관찰한 결과, 검정콩1호와 경동3호의 種皮 표면에는 wax물질이 두껍게 피복되어 細孔(pore)이 보이지 않았으며, 단엽콩은 부분적으로 wax물질이 피복은 되었으나 피복된 부위에서도 細孔의 형상을 확인할 수 있었고 장엽콩과 황금콩은 wax물질이 피복되지 않아 細孔을 뚜렷이 볼 수 있었다. 3. 種皮에 피복되어 있는 wax물질을 2000 倍率의 현미경상에서 관찰한 결과 치 밀하게 피복되어 있는 사이로 種皮 표면이 드러나 보이는 틈새를 발견할 수 있었다. 4. 콩 種皮의 橫斷 構造는 울타리 組織層과 柱狀 組織層 그리고 子葉과 접해 있는 柔組織 세포층으로 구성되어 있는데, 硬實종자의 種皮는 울타리 組織層이 두꺼운 반면 柱狀 組織層이 작았으며 黑色 種皮를 갖는 품종이 黃色 種皮 품종에 비해 울타리 조직이 두꺼운 경향이었다.
