  • When the effect of synoptic weather conditions is weak, a complex terrain and coastline are easily induce a local circulation system over Pusan metropolitan area. we simulate the effects of terrain on the onset time of sea breeze at Suyoung and Haeundae districts by using the LCM(Local Circulation Model). LCM which a propriety was verified described that sea breeze and valley wind at daytime and land breeze and mountain wind at nighttime were well developed over the Pusan metropolitan area. It is general the fact that onset time of a sea breeze is mainly affected according to the distance from the coastline but we find the reversal fact. The numerical simulation represents that the onset time at Suyoung, 5m away from the coastline is faster than that at Haeundae of 1km onshore area. This is the reason that the nighttime air is converged the lower area by surface cooling and then it is drained into the lowest area, Suyoung river. This result is proved by observation data at Suyoung and Haeundae. (rdf:langString) (en)
