  • The effect of Precipitation on cumulus convection is studied by numerically integrating the equation of motion, equations of conservaion of water substance, and the thermodynamic energy equation. The model is restricted vertically to 4.8km and horizontally to 100km. Four case are considered, one in a neutral environment, second in a slightly stable environment, third in an environment decreasing water content with low value of initial water vapor mixing ratio and the fourth in a case with higher vapor gradient. The effects of serval precipitation parameters on precipitation are also investigated by the model experiment. The major results are: (1) The more the atmosphere is unstable, the more cumulus cloud develops ans produces raindrops easily (2) The more water vapors is abundant, the more cumulus cloud develops easily. But precipitation increases according to water vapor amounts and the scale of upstrem. And in case that upstream is strong, precipitation amounts desrease because the amounts of raindrops which reach the ground decrease. (3) Precipitation parameters have great effects on precipitation. Evaporation OOOO effects more significantly to the precipitation amounts than the beginning time of precipitation and autoconversion parameters do the same on precipitation amounts and beginning time of precipitation.
