  • This paper presents a method of predicting the hardness of the cold forgings by finite-element based computer simulation. An experimental approach to finding out the relationship between the effective strain and the hardness is also given. It has been shown experimentally that the Vickers hardness distribution of SCR420H cold-forged steel parts has the distinct relationship with the effective strain distribution predicted by the finite-element method. Based on the relationship, finite-element based hardness prediction is successfully carried out and the predicted hardness is compared with tested one. (rdf:langString) (en)
