  • The regional expressions of cytochrome P4502E1(CYP4502E1) on MRL/MpOlaHsd-lpr(MRL), NOD/ShiKist (NOD), and FGS/NgaKist (FGS) male mice was studied by immunohistochemistry. Three strains were used to investigate specific distribution of the enzyme in differential endogenous disease status. Hepatic cytochrome P4502E1 immunereactivity was significantly increased in disease status, mainly in the pericentral area of expression of MRL, NOD and FGS male mice. These data demonstrate that the selectivity of protein expression may be of significance in assessing cell specific toxicities not only dependent on exogenous factors in induced status, but also endogenous factors like acute or chronic hepatitis, genetic diabetes, and renalpathy.
