  • In the present project, the evaluation of the nonleaky C.B-17 severe combined immune deficiency (SCID) mice is discussed. Total amount of IgG molecule in the SCID mice was determined by sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The detection limit of IgG in serum of SCID mouse is 1㎍/㎖ by ELISA in this experiment. The percentage of nonleaky young (4∼5 weeks) C.B-17 SCID mice (serum IgG molecule <40㎍/㎖) tested in our colony was 95.6% and 81.4% of C.B-17 SCID mice have been under the detection limit of IgG (lower than 1㎍/㎖), while 93.0% of nonleaky old SCID mice (≥40 weeks) have exhibited IgG under 40㎍/㎖, and there have no detection of IgG in 61.2% of old C.B-17 SCID. This results indicated that the change of a nonleaky C.B-17 SCID mice into leaky SCID mice have seemed to be influenced by age. C.B-17 SCID breeders produced an average 5.4±2.3 offspring per litter, with a range of 1 to 10 and the average weaning rate was 86.9±31.8%. Because the SCID mice can be use as a new experimental models, it was thought to be worthwhile to replace human and primates in human immune study. (rdf:langString) (en)
